2024 LEAP (Law Enforcement Action Pistol) Monthly, Precision Pistol Competition (PPC) Matches

Range 3
5000 Upper Harper Road, Coquitlam, BC
Facility:
- Range 3 is an open non-covered PPC range with stationary targets and the shooter moves to the required distances from the target
- The Clubhouse is available with washrooms
- Bringing your own food and drink is recommended
You will need:
- Entry fee, guns, ammo, staples, stapler, pen, whistle, scoring template (ask the match director for one if you don't have one), eye and ear protection, a whistle and a willingness to help out. Everyone can expect to be called upon to call courses of fire, RO, set up and take down the range
Schedule:
0830h - Set up and Registration
0900h - Duty Pistol and/or 1500, shooters choice: Revolver, Pistol or Optical
1030h - 1500 Revolver, Pistol or Optical. A third course of fire may be added, competitors can opt to shoot Distinguished courses in match 5 of the 1500. Additional matches may be added; Duty Pistol, Snub Nose or WA1500 48 round courses of fire. This depends on the weather and competitor interest.

Course of Fire Variance:
- The Chief Firearms Officer (CFO) has restricted this range to 25 yards, so 50 yard stages are conducted using reduced targets fired from 25 yards
- The range has ground baffles which prohibit firing from the prone position, matches are conducted with approval of the CPCA Chief Referee with the following variance in matches 3, 5b and Duty Pistol 5b:
- 24 rounds in 2 minutes and 45 seconds
- 6 rounds sitting
- 6 rounds weak side barricade (in place of prone)
- 6 rounds standing left side barricade
- 6 rounds standing right side barricade
- Neither variance makes this course easier but on the bright side you'll become a better weak hand shooter, or perhaps eventually you won't have a weak hand anymore.
Courses of Fire: As described on the CPCA and WA1500 websites:
- Competitors are expected to be familiar with the courses of fire, experienced competitors are expected to know the course of fire
- If there are new shooters on the line each course of fire will be described fully
Target:
- WA1500 targets will be used
- 1500 matches are shot on 6 targets
- 600 matches on 2 targets
- Center patches are used to reduce costs, and paper disposal fees
- Competitors score the target of the shooter to their right, the shooter on the far right will score the shooter on target one
- Scoring is done on the back board, after each match
Match fees payable in Club House:
+ $10
+ $10 for a day card if you are not a member of the PCDHFC
Match fees payable to CPCA match director:
+ 5 for CPCA fees
+ $5 for each distinguished course fired
- Please bring score cards downloaded from the CPCA website, there are only two required for all events, universal and duty pistol
- competitors are required to be CPCA members and include their CPCA number and classifications on the score cards and be prepared to provide proof of classification
Results:
- Will be forwarded to the CPCA and WA1500 and posted on both websites
